Will Jeff Francoeur Return to Atlanta in 2013?

Former Braves right fielder Jeff Francoeur will return to Turner Field next April if still with the Kansas City Royals

In late April the popular, yet enigmatic former Atlanta Brave, Jeff “Frenchy” Francoeur, may return to Turner Field.  Francoeur’s Kansas City Royals will face off against the Braves, April 16 & 17 in Atlanta.

But will Francoeur still be with the Royals?

Francoeur had a poor 2012 (.235 BA, .287 OBP, .378 SLG) but is under contract with the Royals through 2013, for $6.5 million.  Francoeur had 16 homers, but only 49 RBI in 603 at bats last season.

SI.com’s Bob Ellis reports that teams are calling Royals’ GM Dayton Moore about his bullpen pitchers, but Moore will only make a move if he can off load Francoeur in the deal.

Francoeur had a solid 2011 (.285 BA, .329 OBP, .476 SLG) which resulted in the lucrative 2-year contract he is currently playing under.

If Kansas City should trade Francoeur, hopefully it will be to a team that regularly plays in Atlanta.  Always good to see the former Parkview High product playing at Turner Field.

Will you cheer or boo Jeff Francoeur the next time he plays in Atlanta?
