Former Atlanta Braves great Chipper Jones will return to Turner Field this weekend, as the Braves will retire his number and usher him into their Hall of Fame.
Friday night the Braves will play the Arizona Diamondbacks and prior to the game will be Chipper’s number retirement ceremony. The Braves are urging fans to be in their seats by 6:45 in order to not miss a minute of the action.
Chipper’s number 10 will be the 11th Braves jersey retired in a on-field event that will commence at 7:00 p.m.
There are limited tickets available for the game through the Braves ticket office, so if you want to get big-time seats you should visit use your computer or cell phone and dial up TiqIQ or Razorgator to get the prime time locations.
Thursday afternoon Chipper will join Atlanta Braves President John Schuerholz and City Councilman C.T. Martin for a ribbon cutting ceremony for the first of several parks that were gifted to Chipper in his name by the Braves when he retired.
Thirty children from the Atlanta city baseball program will be treated to a Q&A with Chipper followed by a short skills clinic.
On Friday, Chipper will be inducted into the Braves Hall of Fame during a special luncheon that is sold out.
